The Greenville Concert Band has approximately 50 active members, drawn from the general Greenville community. For many of these members, the group provides an invaluable service by giving them a way to continue their musical experience beyond the high school or college band level.

The Greenville Concert Band is open to wind and percussion instrumentalists who have had several years of experience in playing an instrument. Each prospective band member should be ready to play a brief audition before the conductor consisting of one prepared selection. The chosen audition piece may be either a solo or an excerpt from a small or large ensemble work.

The audition process is designed to be an encouraging one. Its main objective to help place members. In the event that a person is not able to qualify for the band, he or she will be directed to a development-type ensemble until the appropriate playing level is achieved.

If you are interested in joining, contact Darryl Jachens at 864-646-7223.
