Our next concert: Sunday, June 20, 2010 |
News for Performers:Where/When Do We Practice? The Greenville Concert Band practices Thursday nights from 7pm until 9 pm in the Band Room of Hughes Academy of Science and Technology, at 122 DeOyley Avenue, Greenville SC 29605. In case of inclement weather, check the radio, TV, or school district hotline. If Greenville County Schools are closed, so are we! Rehearsal News: We will be performing on Sunday, June 20 at the Chautauqua performance site on the Greenville Tech campus at 6:00 p.m. We will rehearse until 6:45 and then perform from 7:15 to 7:45. Dress for the concert is white tops and black bottoms. You might consider bringing some bottled water, as well! If you are able, try to stay for the event that follows, an Emily Dickinson performance. Our set-up location will take place on the other side of the building (#104—Robert W. Leach Sr. University Transfer Building) where we performed last year. Look for the tent—we’ll play just outside of it under the portico of Building 104. To facilitate the unloading and moving of heavier instruments and other large/bulky items, approach the performance site off of Pleasantburg Drive at the Auditorium/Campus Police entrance. Bear right upon entering, go past the Campus Police office and proceed down the road until it winds around in front of Building 104. You will find a ramp to a sidewalk that will make it easier to move large items to our site. Rehearsals for the 2010-11 season begin on Thursday, September 2 at Hughes Academy. Formal Performance Dress:Men - white tops, black bottoms, black bow time. Women - black blouse, black bottoms (skirt/slacks) Informal Performance Dress:White polo shirt with black bottoms. You can order a Greenville Concert Band polo.
